Project Angel Heart has always been so much more than brick and concrete.  The foundation upon which we stand tall remains the support of our community, the dedication of our volunteers, and the clients who inspire us every day.  For twenty years, Project Angel Heart has delivered.  We have met the needs of the community and become the foremost agency in the area at what we do: delivering meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. As the needs of the community are expected to quadruple in the next 5-10 years, however, it is brick and concrete that will take us to the next level of vital service to the area. And with continued community support, we will get there by way of a $7.1 million capital campaign for a new facility. 

Because our current and future service goals exceed our present capacity, we have purchased a 30,000 square-foot facility (three times larger than our current home) at 4950 Washington Street in Denver.  In addition to expanded parking and office space, our kitchen/distribution area alone will increase by over 4,000 square feet—a huge increase not only in square feet but also in the meal preparation and distribution capacity required to meet the ever-expanding needs of our community.  

With the help of our Capital Campaign Committee, we have already raised over $6.8 million in capital funds toward the $7.1 million total goal needed for renovation and relocation to our new home. In addition to significant cash pledges, we have received substantial in-kind contributions totaling nearly $900,000, including pro bono architectural and engineering services, Owner’s Representative services, landscape design, kitchen design, moving expenses, office furniture, and paint. We intend to relocate to the new facility in early 2012, ensuring the continuation and growth of Project Angel Heart for decades to come so we can not only continue to deliver, but continue to thrive.
