Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Delivery Driver

Cruise for a cause when you deliver meals to clients! Delivery drivers pick up bags of meals—either at Project Angel Heart or from one of our seven Metro Denver or two Colorado Springs satellite locations—and deliver them to neighbors who need nutritious meals.

                           Denver schedule:               Saturday 1pm-3pm

          Colorado Springs schedule:               Saturday 1pm-3pm

Distribution Assistant

Every week, Distribution Assistants solve Project Angel Heart’s meal puzzle when they pack bags with six days’ worth of meals, sort bags into their routes, and help load driver’s cars with the right meals. An eye for detail is a definite must in this job!

Denver schedule:            Wednesday or Thursday 12-3pm

                                                                  Saturday 8-10:30am or 10:30am-1:30pm

Colorado Springs schedule:           Saturday 11am-noon or noon-1:30pm

Satellite Shuttle Driver

Our ten meal distribution satellites are located across the Denver and Colorado Springs metro areas making it possible for 100 meal delivery drivers to pick up meal bags close to home and make deliveries close to home, too! Satellite shuttle drivers pack up meals in their SUV, covered pickup or van and take those meals to a satellite for meal delivery drivers to take to individual clients.

                          Denver schedule:        Saturday noon-1pm

          Colorado Springs schedule:        Saturday noon-1pm

Kitchen Assistant

You don’t have to know what “béchamel”* means to help prepare and package food for clients—anyone who cares about quality food for people living with life-threatening illness already has what it takes! Volunteers in Randy’s Kitchen chop, slice, bag, scoop, stir, blend, bake and—of course—scrub! Join a team of six to twelve volunteers and staff chefs to participate in preparing nutritious meals and keeping our kitchen one of the cleanest in Denver .

                           Denver schedule:      Monday-Saturday 8am-12pm

                                                              Monday-Thursday 2-5pm or 5-8pm

Office Assistant

Office assistants provide support to staff, including answering phones, data entry, filing and more.

Denver schedule:      2-4 hour shifts available Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

To become a Project Angel Heart volunteer, attend an orientation! Sign up by contacting Anne or Megan via email or phone (303-830-0202).
