Grow a Row
Project Angel Heart has partnered with Subaru of America to improve our community’s health by growing fresh produce for those who need it most. In our garden, sponsored by Subaru, volunteers cultivate greens, herbs, tomatoes, and other vegetables for use in our meals.
Help us supplement the produce we grow in our garden and increase the amount of local and organic food our clients receive by donating your extra veggies or growing a row for Project Angel Heart.
To make sure your donated produce translates into nutritious, life-saving meals for our clients, items must be freshly picked and medically appropriate. Younger and better maintained produce means better nutritional quality for our clients and greater processing ease for our kitchen volunteers. Vegetables left unrefrigerated for even one day after picking cannot be used. We kindly ask that you focus on the preferred list provided (particularly the veggies in bold text). Your efforts are appreciated. We are grateful for your contribution!
- Items that are usually served raw, like lettuce and cucumbers
- Hot peppers or radishes
- Loveage, amaranth, lemon balm and other less common herbs
- Items our clients might find unusual or strange. Our clients typically prefer the familiar and “normal” when it comes to vegetables and herbs.
Where to Donate
Drop off your produce at our Denver Office and Kitchen on Mondays from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. Please park on the north side of the building, enter through the north door or ring the bell at the loading dock, and check in with the front desk when you arrive.
Other Ways to Help
We also look for volunteers to pick up produce or help clean and chop produce once it arrives. Produce processing shifts are available Monday afternoons and evenings.
Please contact us at 303.830.0202 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to inquire about available sustainability volunteer positions.
