Distribution Assistants, Denver

  • Thursdays from 9-11am
  • Strictly 2-6 volunteers
  • Distribution assistants solve Project Angel Heart’s meal puzzle when they pack and organize meal bags. This position is essential in getting the right meal in the right bag and to the right client. An eye for detail is a must for this job.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.

Meal Delivery Driver, Denver

  • Tuesdays 11am-noon
  • Saturday 1-3pm
  • Delivery drivers pick up meals at the Project Angel Heart office and deliver them to neighbors who need nutritious meals. This is a great family opportunity.
  • All ages welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Satellite Shuttle Drivers

  • Saturdays 11am – 12pm
  • Pack up meals in your own vehicle at Project Angel Heart and deliver them to a designated satellite location. From there, volunteer meal delivery drivers take bags to individual clients.

Team Bagnanimous

  • Project Angel Heart sends out over 1,200 decorated paper bags filled with nutritious meals to individuals living with a life-threatening illness every week. Help our clients receive a cheerful drawing from the community by coordinating decorated meal bags.
  • Review new and returned meal bags for appropriate designs or defects, and recycle those that need recycling.
  • Volunteering once a week or once a month works for us.

Garden Assistant – The Alexander Garden, Denver

Project Angel Heart’s Alexander Garden is located in Greenwood Village. Thanks to garden space provided by two donors, our primary purpose is to grow herbs, one of our most expensive items, to offset costs in a sustainable way.

  • Volunteers are needed to help build raised cedar beds and plant, maintain, and harvest the garden.
  • For the construction of the cedar beds, volunteers will be using saws, drills, levels and sledgehammers to construct these beds. In addition, volunteers should be able to carry and place cedar timbers up to 16 feet long. Twelve or more volunteers are needed from 9am to 5pm with a lunch break included.
  • Volunteer shifts will begin in March 2020.
  • All volunteers must have a current background check on-file, and all volunteers are required to have pre-scheduled shifts (no drop-ins allowed).

Kitchen Assistants, Denver

  • Fridays 1-4pm; Mondays – Wednesdays 5-7pm
  • Chop, slice, bag, scoop, stir, blend, bake, and of course scrub! Must be able to stand for long periods of time; some lifting up to 20 lbs.
