About our Meals

We start with the science of nutrition, combine it with the creativity of our kitchen, and mix with a heaping helping of heart to create medically tailored meals that feed neighbors’ bodies and spirits.

We source fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible, including local produce from our garden and local community farms, as well as antibiotic-free protein. Our meals incorporate a variety of ingredients and flavors, and many of the recipes are inspired by a wide array of cultural cuisines and traditions.

Each week, we provide seven nutritious entrees, and some additional items like bread, fruit and string cheese. Entrees are delivered frozen so that clients can choose what they’d like to eat and have the flexibility to reheat meals whenever they’d like to enjoy them. Some clients also receive a breakfast bag containing a week’s worth of medically tailored breakfast meals, which includes items like a berry yogurt bowl and breakfast tacos.

Our Specialty Diets

Because we believe Food is Medicine, we tailor our meals to meet the evidence-based nutritional guidelines for the illnesses, symptoms, and side effects with which our clients are living.

All our meals are low-sodium and diabetes-friendly. We tailor our meals according to five main diets and additional dietary modifications for gluten intolerance, digestion challenges, and religious considerations. We have the capacity to offer hundreds of diet combinations.

Meals have limited sodium/salt and are lower in saturated fat. This diet is a good option for most people, even if they are not living with a chronic illness. It’s especially helpful for people with heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, malnutrition, cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s, to name a few.

Designed for people living with end-stage kidney disease on dialysis. Meals are low in potassium, phosphorous, and sodium, with a moderate amount of protein.

Suitable for people experiencing taste changes, nausea, chemo mouth, or mouth sores. There are no strong flavors or spices—like onion, garlic, ginger, wine, dairy, coconut, cabbage, or herbs (dry or fresh)—of any kind.

Helpful for people with common allergies or food intolerances. The meals do not include dairy or eggs.

These meals do not contain meat. Instead, they contain protein such as tofu, eggs, dairy, beans, and other legumes.

*Please note that our kitchen is not an allergen-free environment, but we do our best to accommodate dietary needs. Food prepared in our kitchen may come into contact with wheat or other gluten-containing ingredients, milk, eggs, soy, sesame, peanuts, tree nuts, and fish. This is especially important to be aware of if you have a severe or life-threatening food allergy.
