Listen: Meals, Birthday Cake Make All The Difference for Single Mom & Son Facing Cancer

As the executive director of the Sue DiNapoli Ovarian Cancer Society, Susan is a supporter of Project Angel Heart’s mission. Every year, the society provides a grant to Project Angel Heart to ensure that women with gynecological cancers in Colorado Springs receive nutrition meals.

But this year, Susan got to know Project Angel Heart in a way she didn’t expect. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and began receiving meal deliveries.

Listen to her story about how the meals have made a difference not just for her as she recovers from surgery, but also for her son—and how a birthday cake from Project Angel Heart gave him the chance to forget about cancer and celebrate his eleventh birthday.

You can help provide these nourishing meals for Colorado Springs neighbors like Susan and her son by donating to our Give! campaign. Each $50 gift provides a weekly meal bag for someone facing life-threatening illness.

Special thanks to Coba at RXP 1039 for having us on the show to share this story!
