Have you met Maggie Olague? When Project Angel Heart expanded to Pueblo, Colorado, Maggie was brought on to work with volunteers and help ensure our neighbors in need in Pueblo County get home-delivered meals. We caught up with Maggie to learn more about her work at Project Angel Heart, and learn a little about her personally.
Q: How long have you been with Project Angel Heart, and what has been your biggest challenge?
A: I have been working with Project Angel Heart since March 2022. Project Angel Heart’s expansion to Pueblo is still relatively new, which means many community members are still learning about us. So, I’m working hard to build awareness about us and the work we do right here for our neighbors.
Q: What do you like most about working in volunteer resources?
A: My favorite part about working in volunteer resources is Saturday mornings at our partner site, Care and Share Food Bank, where our volunteer meal delivery drivers pick up meal bags and delivery routes. I love being able to engage with all the volunteers and see their dedication to Project Angel Heart’s mission, as well all the hard work everyone puts in to making Saturday distribution possible. It’s amazing how the whole process works seamlessly.
Q: What is your top bucket list item that you most want to accomplish?
A: I want to start an animal rescue and live in Mongolia and Tanzania for at least a year.
