Jim Pennington: Volunteer of the Month

Project Angel Heart is thrilled to recognize Jim Pennington as our Volunteer of the Month for May. Jim was nominated by our volunteer resources team and fellow volunteers. Here’s what they had to say about him:

Jim has been an amazing volunteer who consistently goes above and beyond. He is always the first person to show up for his shift and the last one to leave after he mops the entire dish-up area. 

Whenever Jim’s here, he demonstrates sincere dedication to our clients and fellow volunteers. Even when he can’t make his regular shift, he always finds a way to come in early or help on a different day.

Jim, your fellow volunteers absolutely love working with you, and had this to say:

“Jim is able to keep his finger on the pulse of all things dish-up. He seamlessly moves about the kitchen–filling food items and anticipating people’s needs. Some of us are less capable of heavy lifting and Jim is always right there to lend a hand. He is the first in and the last out almost every shift. He always exudes a positive good-natured attitude and certainly deserves this distinction.”

“Jim is the best kind of volunteer–he anticipates how he can facilitate tasks to keep things moving forward and goes above and beyond by arriving early. He does the least enjoyable tasks of getting the veggies (brr!) and mopping–meaning he’s also the last to leave. He’s always pleasant and willing to help his co-volunteers, including those on the shift after ours!”
