Meals Provide Steady Support for Ronald
Living with HIV, Ronald has faced more than his share of challenges—from serious health issues to financial hardship. But even in his toughest moments, he found support from Project Angel Heart.
“I first heard about Project Angel Heart from Colorado Health Network,” Ronald said. “What I found was more than just meals—I found compassion and kindness when I needed it most.”

Ronald first became a client in 1998 and received meals off and on for many years. In 2007, he was paralyzed from the neck down. Although he eventually regained mobility—he now walks with the help of a cane or walker—he faced a long stretch when he couldn’t work and had to scramble to make ends meet.
When things felt most uncertain for Ronald, he knew he could count on the nutritious, medically tailored meals from Project Angel Heart.
“The meals from Project Angel Heart helped me stay healthy during tough times,” Ronald shared. “No matter what happened, I knew I had access to at least one healthy meal each day.”
Even the small gestures made a difference. When his beloved service dog passed away, Ronald received a sympathy card from Project Angel Heart’s client services team—something he still remembers and has kept to this day. And he never forgot the dedication of the volunteers who brought the meals to his front door, even in bad weather. “They made me believe that there are good people in the world—people who truly care and want to help others,” he said.
For Ronald, Project Angel Heart wasn’t just there for a moment—it’s been part of his life whenever he needed it most. Through every challenge, it reminded him he wasn’t alone. “I’m so grateful to everyone at Project Angel Heart for always being there for me,” he said.
