Strategic Plan 2026–2031

Dear Project Angel Heart Community,

Today, I’m proud to share Project Angel Heart’s new Strategic Plan 2026–2031—our roadmap for the next five years and a reflection of the extraordinary community that makes our work possible.

Over the past year, with the guidance of our consulting partners at Third Horizon, we listened. Through surveys, interviews, focus groups, staff conversations, and board discussions, we heard from donors, volunteers, clients, partners, staff, and community leaders who shared their perspectives on where Project Angel Heart should go next. Your voices helped shape this plan, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed time, insight, and candor.

This plan comes at a critical moment. The evidence for Food is Medicine has never been stronger, yet access to medically tailored nutrition remains limited, public funding is uncertain and, in some cases, has been cut, and sustainable healthcare payment pathways are still emerging. At the same time, the need for our services continues to grow.

Our plan meets this moment with ambition and purpose. Over the next five years, we will focus on three interconnected priorities called “Strategic Pillars”: advancing medically tailored nutrition and research; strengthening our organizational sustainability and readiness; and building healthcare linkages and payment pathways that can expand access to Food is Medicine for those who need our services.

Through it all, our purpose remains constant: ensuring that Coloradans living with severe illness have access to nutritious food that supports their health and well-being.

Thank you for helping Project Angel Heart reach this moment—and for being part of where we go next. Together, we will honor the spirit of care that began this organization, while boldly building its future.

With gratitude,
