November 2021 Volunteer of the Month
Congratulations to Janet Clarke, a Denver volunteer helping out in the kitchen, on the roads, and in other ways! Here’s what our volunteer resources team had to say about Janet:
The VR team would like to nominate Janet Clarke for November’s Volunteer of the Month! Janet first became a volunteer in 2013, and she puts a tremendous amount of time and energy into Project Angel Heart.
Janet has taken on a multitude of volunteer opportunities over the years, most notably being a kitchen assistant every single week, and for one of our most difficult shifts to fill, Friday afternoons. Janet is wonderfully detailed-oriented and has an eye for improving processes. The Friday dish-up crew has earned the reputation as being remarkably efficient, largely attributed to Janet.
You might be wondering what she does before her kitchen shift? Well, you guessed it, she is a meal delivery driver, often delivering three times a month or more! Janet also heard there was a need for a satellite coordinator at our busiest satellite on Saturdays, and she decided that, too, was a good fit. For coordinators, there can be many in-the-moment challenges, and Janet handles them seamlessly! If a driver calls out at the last minute or can’t take all the bags assigned to them, Janet jumps in to ensure clients get their meals. We always feel confident knowing Janet is on the job.
Janet also loves to provide event support, serving as an ambassador at Dining Out For Life, and helping with A Taste for Life (assembling materials, helping with setup, working the event, etc.). Janet is hoping for in-person events in 2022, just like the rest of us!
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to Project Angel Heart, Janet. We are so glad you are part of the team!
