John Ferreira: Volunteer of the Month

Project Angel Heart is thrilled to recognize John Ferreira as our Volunteer of the Month for August. John was nominated by our volunteer resources team. Here’s what they had to say about him:

Since joining us in May 2021, John has been a dedicated Kitchen Assistant—scooping meals, chopping veggies, helping with deliveries, and pitching in at special events. He’s also played a key role in making our Thanksgiving meals a success year after year, from filling trays to using his butcher expertise to ensure clients receive the perfect portion of turkey.

John’s warmth and dedication have made a big impact on his fellow volunteers, who shared:

“John’s dedication is a gift to the Thursday dish up crew. He goes the extra mile (literally), arriving very early from his home in the mountains to get the process started. He is reliable, willing to help wherever he is needed, always there with a grin, and he rolls with the punches! He very subtly lets us all know we are part of his family, and we love him for that. Our mornings would not be the same without him.”

John, your kitchen prowess and kind heart have helped us prepare tens of thousands of meals. Thank you for your dedication and your warm presence. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our Project Angel Heart community. Congratulations!
