Leticia Martinez: Volunteer of the Month

February 2021 Volunteer of the Month

Nominated by volunteers Mara Moss, Cherie Recchia, and Mary Smith

Leticia Martinez,
Kitchen Assistant & Distribution Assistant

Leticia was introduced to Project Angel Heart by her cousin Rebecca McCormick, and started out in distribution helping pack meal bags for our clients…but it wasn’t long before she decided to help in the kitchen every week on the Monday afternoon chopping shift, bringing her cheerful nature along with her.

Leticia was one of the first people to reach out and offer her help when the pandemic hit last year and we’re so grateful for her endless support of our mission during these hard times. Leticia’s nominators also had these nice things to say about her.

Mara noted, “Leticia has worked hard to recruit volunteers and she represents Project Angel Heart in a wonderful way!”

Cherie commented, “Leticia lives in my neighborhood and has inspired at least 6 of her neighbors to become involved with Project Angel Heart. Leticia loves what she does at Angel Heart and has encouraged so many of us to join her in her commitment to help those in need.”

Mary has this to say about Leticia: “I have wanted to find an opportunity to volunteer for a couple years, and Leticia’s enthusiasm and encouragement brought me to Project Angel Heart – which I find very fulfilling! She has also offered to carpool a group of us. She is a gem!”

We couldn’t agree more, and we are pleased to have Leticia as an integral part of our team.

Congratulations Leticia, we all appreciate you!
