Exciting things are happening in the volunteer resources department in Denver! We are lucky to have an exceptionally talented team, and many have recently moved into different roles. Here’s a quick update on each staff member and how they support volunteers:
Matt Nigro, distribution coordinator
Works with Friday meal delivery drivers, shuttle drivers, distribution assistants
Matt recently took over Kris Call’s role as distribution coordinator. Previously, he worked as a volunteer resources coordinator scheduling Saturday delivery drivers. Matt has a background working with volunteers in a warehouse setting, and last year took a trip to Italy to work on an organic farm for three months.
Rasha Husseini-Trujillo, volunteer resources coordinator
Works with Saturday meal delivery drivers, corporate and social groups
Rasha has been with us since 2012, working in the kitchen as a production chef and prep cook/kitchen assistant. In November, she’s moving into her role in volunteer resources, where we will be lucky to have her degree in nonprofit administration and love of cooking and working with volunteers.
Susan Aronoff, volunteer resources assistant
Works with Community Outreach Team, community service, administration, and event volunteers
Susan is in her third year working in volunteer resources, and brings great experience working with volunteers from her Americorps service. She recently went back to graduate school, so she’s moved into a part-time role as volunteer resources assistant.
Cortney Paddock, volunteer resources coordinator
Works with kitchen, front desk, distribution, and event volunteers
Cortney joined the client services team at Project Angel Heart in 2015, and in September of 2016 took over Susan’s role as volunteer resources coordinator. Cortney has as background in higher ed and volunteer coordination, and volunteered at Project Angel Heart as a youngster.
Rick Hamilton, distribution and facility engineer
Works with distribution volunteers, delivers meals to Colorado Springs
Rick joined Project Angel Heart as a volunteer in 2014 and staff member in June 2015. Rick has a background in process and maintenance, and manages facility and vehicle maintenance in addition to his role in distribution.
Mark Smith, volunteer resources manager
Works with all volunteers!
Mark has been the volunteer resources manager since February 2013. He provides strategic direction and leadership to his staff to train, support, and recognize over 1,200 volunteers annually. Mark recently acquired his certification in volunteer management and has engaged volunteers for over 20 years.
