New Volunteer Resources Coordinator: Cortney Paddock

Please join us in welcoming Cortney Paddock to the volunteer resources team!

Cortney began working at Project Angel Heart in December 2015 as a client services assistant. In that role, she worked with Project Angel Heart’s clients to get their deliveries started. She enjoyed helping them tailor their meal deliveries and learning what it takes on a day-to-day basis for Project Angel Heart to serve 2500+ clients every year.

Cortney is excited to work with volunteers!

Cortney is now taking on the role of volunteer resources coordinator, where she will work with kitchen, distribution, office, and event volunteers. She is excited to take on her first big task- coordinating volunteers for this fall’s A Taste for Life! We asked her a couple of questions about volunteering:

Q: How did you first get connected to Project Angel Heart?

A: In middle school, I came with my advisory group to decorate bags. At that time Project Angel Heart was still operating out of a church. Later, after graduating with my Bachelors in Science in Human Development and Family Studies, I was job hunting and applied for the volunteer coordinator position at Project Angel Heart. Unfortunately I did not get the job, but I did start volunteering as a kitchen assistant for a few months. Since then I have been an avid supporter of Project Angel Heart and Dining Out For Life.

Q: Why is volunteering important to you?

My family and schools always emphasized the importance of volunteering. I love building community, and I think volunteering is an effective way to contribute to communities. I enjoy learning about how different organizations and groups identify community needs and find solutions to making Denver and the world a better place for everyone.
