Project Angel Heart Shares Canvas with Acclaimed Artists for a Night of Creative Charity in 2012

11th Annual Art Auction Gives Life to Ailing Coloradans

DENVER (July 18, 2012) – Local and nationally recognized artists will donate more than 150 artistic creations to this year’s Art for Life event, hosted by Project Angel Heart on Friday, August 24 from 6 -10 p.m. at Abend Gallery, located at 2260 E Colfax Ave. The Art for Life fine art auction will benefit the agency’s home-delivery meal program, which serves nutritious meals, free of charge, to men, women and children living with life-threatening illnesses.

The vibrant works of art donated by participating artists bring passion and benevolence to this annual event. “I have friends who have been recipients of meals from Project Angel Heart, so it’s a cause that is near and dear to my heart,” said John K. Harrell, Denver artist and Art for Life participant. “I paint. Art is my life. I’m happy to share my art to help give others life, just like the event title says.”

The artist line-up includes Dan Beck, Phil Bender, Gordon Brown, Daniel Sprick, Kim English, Michael Gadlin, John K Harrell, Ron Hicks, Quang Ho, Kit Karbler, Mark Lunning, Sandra Pratt, Robert Spooner, Bill Starke, and Ken Valastro. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Project Angel Heart.

“Thank you to the artists for their eclectic contributions and to our supporters for making this event possible,” said Erin Pulling, executive director of Project Angel Heart. “Art for Life brings together diverse artwork from some of the region’s finest artists, along with exceptional culinary and cocktail creations, all for a worthy cause.”

The event will also showcase artwork from emerging artists at Denver School of the Arts and Art Students League of Denver, juried by a panel of local artists.

2012 event sponsors include: Abend Gallery, American National Bank, Michael R. Ragsdale, MD & Kevin A. McLane and DPC Networks.
