Rebecca McCormick: Volunteer of the Month

March 2022 Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to Rebecca McCormick, kitchen and distribution assistant. Rebecca was nominated by the volunteer resources team. Here’s what the team had to say about Rebecca:

Rebecca has been a regular volunteer since 2016, offering her skills, wit, and charm twice a week. Rebecca loves working with her friends on the Thursday distribution shift where she helps pack more than 1,600 meal bags for clients per week! Rebecca always has a smile on her face and she is the resident DJ for that shift, making sure that music is playing for all to enjoy. Rebecca even shows up in seasonal appropriate attire, for instance, wearing green and yellow to bring on spring!

Rebecca also volunteers in the kitchen chopping lots and lots of vegetables! Rebecca has worked the Monday shift for many years and brings that sparkle she carries with her to that shift as well. Volunteers comment that she is a delight, and they notice when she takes a vacation.

As if that wasn’t enough, Rebecca continually lets others know about our program and a few years back she got her cousin Leticia involved – who has been a wonderful addition in the kitchen. Rebecca also worked the vaccine clinic last year, providing support for so many in our community who received their vaccine via Project Angel Heart.

Congratulations, Rebecca! We all appreciate you!
