Access to nutritious food shouldn’t be a worry for people with a life-threatening illness, but many people who are ill find themselves with little to eat. Some are unable to cook for themselves. Others find they must choose between food and medicine to make ends meet.
Some Project Angel Heart clients are severely underweight and adding a supplemental bag of breakfast foods, in addition to their medically tailored meals, supports healthy body weight, making sure the body has the muscle mass and energy to withstand treatment, strengthen the immune system, make medication more effective, and lessen side-effects. More than 200 clients each week receive a breakfast bag full of cereal, milk, and protein-packed items like peanut butter, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and cheese.
Will you help put breakfast on the table for a neighbor in need? There are two ways to support this year’s drive:
Start a virtual cereal drive.
Collect virtual cereal donations with your personalized online page. We’ll provide all the tools you need to share the details with everyone in your network and inspire them to get involved, too. Sign up here.
Donate virtual cereal online.
Kindly note that, due to the coronavirus, we are unable to accept donated boxes of cereal this year. Please do not bring boxes to our offices.
