Congratulations to Terri Figueredo, Colorado Springs Community Outreach Team Member and Volunteer of the Month for March 2018! Terri was nominated by Sally Rothstein & Nataliya Burdeynyuk, Project Angel Heart’s Colorado Springs staff. They said:
“Terri is a Project Angel Heart Community Outreach volunteer extraordinaire. When Terri represents and shares about Project Angel Heart’s program in our Colorado Springs and Denver communities, she generously shares about her own experience as a past meal recipient; her clear passion for our mission shines through and helps people understand just how valuable our meals and deliveries can be to someone navigating the rough terrain of a significant illness. One day in September, 2016, Terri showed up unassumingly at our Colorado Springs office to volunteer. We quickly learned she was there ‘simply to give back’ after she had healed well enough from her double-lung transplant to be active again. Since September, 2016, she has shared her story countless times with countless people, all with the focus to let people know just how much the meals and deliveries mattered to Terri while she was waiting for and recovering from her significant and life-saving surgery. We are constantly inspired by Terri’s energy, passionate eloquence, and commitment to facilitating our mission, and are grateful and fortunate she chooses to share so much of her gifts with our community and as a Project Angel Heart Community Outreach volunteer.”
As Volunteer of the Month, Terri will enjoy a special dinner prepared by Project Angel Heart’s chefs.
