Client Profile: Bill

Bill has been receiving meals since December 2013. He lives with multiple illnesses, all hampering his ability to prepare his own meals. He is diabetic and has an acute pulmonary embolism due to a blockage in a blood vessel in the lungs.

Additionally, Bill has congestive heart failure (CHF). With CHF, the heart struggles to pump enough oxygen and nutrients to meet the body’s needs. Because he is legally blind and relies on a walker for mobility, meal preparation is very difficult for Bill. Project Angel Heart has been able to send Bill meals that meet his medical needs. His food is all prepared appropriately for individuals on blood thinners and meets his needs as a diabetic. Receiving the meals from Project Angel Heart has lessened his stress about meal preparation and has helped improve his weight and energy level.

Bill is a very talented artist, who especially enjoys drawing pictures of animals. He is kind enough to share his gift with Project Angel Heart and has sent us numerous copies of his work which are displayed around the office. Unfortunately, his osteoarthritis and vision limits his ability to continue drawing.
