Facility Loan Paid Off at Denver Office & Kitchen

In 2007, we purchased a warehouse at 4950 Washington Street with lots of freezer space, convenient loading docks, and huge potential to become our new home. Hundreds of generous donors gave $7.1 million dollars over the next four and a half years to renovate, design, and build- making our dream a reality. We moved into our new home in January 2012 with the space to make more meals than ever before.

Now, five years after moving in, we’ve paid off our loan and are the official owners of our Denver office & kitchen!

Thanks to the generosity of our community creating multiple years of surplus, we were able to pay off our facility loan years earlier than planned. We’ll save more than $150,000 in interest payments- which can now be dedicated to making nutritious meals for our neighbors in need.

P.S. We couldn’t let it go out without a bang… here’s a video of Jeremy Anderson, our former board chair, and Father Al Halverstadt, who gave Project Angel Heart its very first home in the basement of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, burning tithe loan paperwork.
