We love pie, and we hate food waste. Pie makes us sing. Food waste makes us stomp our feet and say things we regret later. It’s that simple.
That’s why we’re so excited about our Pie it Forward partnership with Kirkpatrick Bank, a local bank serving communities in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Every year, we sell thousands of Pie in the Sky pies to people who also love pie and want to help neighbors in need. And, every year, when Pie in the Sky ends, we’re left with a few hundred pies that don’t get picked up. So, our friends at Kirkpatrick Bank have teamed up with us to make sure that every extra slice of delicious pie gets eaten.
Thanks in part to Kirkpatrick Bank’s Pie in the Sky sponsorship, all extra pies will get a second life. We’ll work with our friends at We Don’t Waste to load them up and deliver them to the EXDO Event Center for the Squeaky Bean Thanksgiving Feed, an event that will provide Thanksgiving dinner for up to 6,000 homeless and hungry individuals.
“We’re grateful to Kirkpatrick Bank for helping to provide hundreds of medically tailored meals for people living with cancer, AIDS, kidney disease, and other illnesses,” said Erin Pulling, Project Angel Heart president and CEO. “We’re also grateful to them for ensuring that not a single Pie in the Sky pie goes to waste and helping us shine a light on other outstanding organizations helping to address hunger in our community.”
Everybody wins. Huge thanks to Kirkpatrick Bank choosing to “pie it forward” to support Project Angel Heart and others in need.
