Denver-based Agency Honored at 26th Annual Top Company Awards

DENVER (Sept. 12, 2013) – Project Angel Heart, a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers nutritious meals to ailing women, men and children in the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs, is pleased to announce that the agency has been named Top Company of the Year in the NonProfit Category by ColoradoBiz Magazine.

The 26th Annual Top Company Awards took place at The Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on September 11th. The Top Company of the Year Award was developed in 1986 to recognize companies that demonstrate exceptional achievements and performance. Nominees are judged on three criteria: financial performance, community involvement and outstanding achievement in areas such as product innovation, operational excellence or marketing effectiveness.

Project Angel Heart was selected, in part, for the successful completion of a $7.1 million capital campaign and subsequent move to a larger home in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood, as well as the depth of support the organization receives from local donors and volunteers.

Project Angel Heart’s goal for 2013 is to deliver at least 485,000 nutritious meals, at no cost, to 2,200 people in the metro area and Colorado Springs, and the agency has plans to increase this number by 30 percent over the next three years.

“We are extremely honored to be recognized with this award from ColoradoBiz Magazine,” said Erin Pulling, President & CEO for Project Angel Heart. “Ours is not a small feat and it takes dedication from our family of volunteers, tireless support from the community and important partnerships with businesses that are willing to help us reach our daily mission of getting meals out the door and delivered to those who need them most.”

Project Angel Heart, who was also named “Large Nonprofit Organization of the Year” in 2012 by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, is extremely grateful to all of the agency’s supporters, sustaining donors and the group of dedicated volunteers who contributed more than 57,000 hours of their time last year.
