Kirkpatrick Bank, a business bank serving Denver and Colorado Springs, will “pie it forward” on behalf of their clients and friends this Thanksgiving as a sponsor of Project Angel Heart’s Pie in the Sky event.
As part of their commitment, Kirkpatrick Bank will provide more than 300 nourishing meals for Coloradans facing cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and other serious illnesses. In addition, they’re helping to make sure Pie in the Sky is a waste-free event by helping Project Angel Heart get any extra pies to individuals and families facing hunger and food insecurity.
Every year, there are people who are unable to pick up the Pie in the Sky pies they ordered or whose plans change at the last minute. Thanks to Kirkpatrick Bank, all leftover pies will be redistributed to food banks and hunger relief organizations.
We’re grateful for partners like Kirkpatrick Bank, who go above and beyond to support their local communities,” said Sarah Mirick, head pie purveyor at Project Angel Heart. “Three hundred people will receive medically tailored meals thanks to our partnership. And hundreds of others facing food insecurity will get to enjoy delicious holiday pies, thanks to our joint efforts to make sure no pie is wasted.”
The sponsorship has been meaningful for Kirkpatrick Bank, as well.
“This partnership has been so rewarding for us in so many ways,” said Doris Rigoni, Denver market president. “It creates the kind of community engagement that makes a difference. We thank Project Angel Heart for all they do!”
